ROBERT DOWNEY JR. has a nasty parasite to thank for his super-svelte shape in new movie SHERLOCK HOLMES - he lost weight after contracting a bug in Japan.

The 44 year old was in the Far East last year (08) promoting the first Iron Man movie when he fell ill.
The sickness was so severe he dropped five pounds (2.3 kilograms), and the star saw it as an initiative to keep on dieting to achieve a buff body for the upcoming detective movie.

He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I was in Japan promoting Iron Man, and I went to a restaurant where I contracted a parasite and got really sick for three days. I started losing weight and thought to myself, 'Hey this is a nice jump-start!' It just gave me a nice little head-start with the first five pounds and then I kept going until I was thin. I felt as though I may float away."

Robert Downey Jr. says Guy Ritchie is a "really smart bad-a*s". The actor praised the director for his confident approach to working on 'Sherlock Holmes', in which the 'Iron Man' star plays the titular fictional detective and says he always felt comfortable working with the filmmaker. He said:

"We're in the hands of a really smart bad-a*s. The best word to describe Guy is 'confident'. Confident in a way that you can't pretend to be, because you only see it in the moment when it's crunch time."

This is a response to a fic posted @ FF.net (a.k.a. The Pit of Frequent Fail)
Dear Star Trek author,
Your story started out well, I admit it was cute and enjoyable. It was enjoyable enough that I was willing to overlook the poor spelling, grammatical mistakes, Mary Sues (they were tolerable), and pretend I had not just read terms like “criss-cross applesauce” (yeah I know it’s a kid-fic, but come on, even if you are 12 that’s still lame; although YMMV). But what really irked me was the author’s note in chapter 4. The author’s not right in the middle of the fic! Not only was it an author’s note in the middle of a fic, it was an author’s note talking about the newest Mary Sue! Author’s notes a in the middle of your fic are a no-no! They throw you out of the story entirely. Besides that particular statement could have easily been put at the beginning or end notes, there was no need for it be in the middle of the fic. Also, how many whiney female OCs can you jam into one fic? I’m half way through chapter 4 and you’ve got 3, THREE, Mary-sues wandering around! I can tolerate one or two if they’re not too annoying, but 3? Really?
Better luck with your next fic,
Me
P.S. ‘does’ is spelled D-O-E-S, not D-O-S-E.’ Dose’ is something different.

Although Evan Rachel Wood has recently been linked to True Blood vampire Alexander Skarsgard, the 22 year-old actress has gotten back together with a real-life creature of the night: Marilyn Manson.

Marilyn Manson tells Metal Hammer magazine, "Me being at my best is what I need to be...I think that has really paid off because I'm back with Evan."

Which of these fall couples will last?

The musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, first got together with Wood in 2006 on the heels of his divorce from wife Dita von Teese. He and Wood parted ways in October 2008; they had a brief reunion in February 2009. Reports of a romance between Wood and Skarsgard -- her costar on True Blood -- surfaced in September.

After their October 2008 split, Wood told Us Weekly that she would "always love and respect" the musician.

Skarsgard, for his part, has also been recently linked to actress Kate Bosworth. During this October's Spike TV Scream Awards, they were "very affectionate, holding hands as Alexander played with Kate's hair while they chatted with friends in the green room," an insider tells Us. The pair were also recently photographed exiting an L.A. movie theater.

Here's a glimpse into a night at the Kutcher-Moore household. From separate rooms in their shared LA home Thursday night, Ashton and Demi planned a dinner menu and a bedroom rendezvous by writing dialogue on their bodies and sending the pictures over Twitter. Demi's teenage daughter Tallulah got pulled in right before things turned sexual.

Note the product placement. Both Demi and Ashton pose with a package of 'Wanted' perfume, Helena Rubinstein's new fragrance that Demi is fronting. Demi previously called on fans to tweet pictures of what they wanted written on their hands. Most wishes were more along the lines of marriage equality, ending war and their children's happiness than takeout food and sex.

Ashton once famously tweeted a picture of his wife's panty-clad tush.

According to the NY Daily News singer Kelly Rowland is reportedly furious with Mathew Knowles and Beyonce after being dragged into a copyright-infringement lawsuit for the Destiny’s Child hit “Cater 2 U”.

Kelly and her DC bandmates Michelle Williams and Beyonce were almost forced to fly to Chicago for the trial, but at the eleventh hour the case was conveniently settled out of court. An insider however has spoken out to the media and lifted the lid on Kelly’s fury over the legal drama.

Fans of Lady Gaga have come to expect more than music when it comes to her stage performances.
And once again, the U.S. singer didn't disappoint as she slipped into a series of fantastical outfits for her latest gig on her Monster Ball Tour.

The Just Dance star dressed in a range of ensembles which looked fresh out of the dressing up box, including a Viking warrior, an evil-looking Rapunzel and a robot-inspired costume.

I loved your Night's Dawn trilogy. Almost all 4.000 pages of it. I really did. And I do understand that, getting to the end there, you wanted to finish. But....Cut for ending-spoilers )

I sincerely hope you've learned from this, and haven't repeated it in your other books, or I really will throw something heavy (say, your books) at you.

10 Cat Power - You Are Free (2003)

A bracing, transcendent mix of lo-fi pop, haunting folk, and beautiful noise. This was the masterwork that signaled the Georgia-born, whiskey-voiced chanteuse's stunning leap from oddball indie darling to fully realized artist.
