So I write fanfiction, no big deal. Have I written an original story? Oh yes, but they're just one-shots or very short stories.

I enjoy writing.

It does not matter whether it's for fun or for school work. I really enjoy writing an essay and just like any other story, I follow the pattern of jotting down ideas/notes. It's just another way of exercising my mind/imagination while keeping everything real. Eh, some would say that's boring, I say it's fun.

Writing is writing to me.

When it comes to fanfiction, I keep in mind that I'm writing for fun. After all, the point of writing a story IMO is to release whatever creativity you have at the moment. I will admit that at the beginning, I was doing it to see a reaction - to see if I could get the attention of a reader. Once I did, I wanted more. Attention by readers means getting reviews.

I really LOVED it.

I then realized (and seen it mentioned before) that writing a fanfiction is not about getting reviews. It's about writing for the fun of it. To develop whatever talent you have, be it the descriptive process or the emotion set in any character.

The point is: Do not write to get reviews - write because you LOVE writing.

Getting any sort of attention is positive and a bonus, not to mention a confidence booster.

Which leads me to another thing.

There will always be people who do not like something for one reason or another. It's an opinion - never take it personally. If it's a critique - the better. That way, you may learn and improve in any future subject. I've seen how people drop off a blatant flame (Someone who just thrashes a story without being reasonable) just to...I really don't know. Either way a flame is not helpful as it involves a blatant disrespect from the reviewer.

Now to cap off this...uh whatever it is I've written...I will always be thankful for the Beta's. Without them, the errors in my writing will go unseen by me.

Something random:

Finally!

A movie review I actually agree with.

‘CHUCK’ ROAST

“Good Luck Chuck” is foul, unnerving, tasteless and repellent. Its humor, well, one member of the preview audience at Edwards Mira Mesa the other night got it right: “That’s disgusting,” she bellowed.

For openers, there’s a Spin the Bottle vignette at a 10-year-old’s birthday party. The kids are sexualized, including a goth-like preteen who rips off her top in a closet to expose a training bra. She jumps on the boy (who grows up to be Dane Cook), deeply scratching his chest with her nails to “heighten” the experience. Afterward, his plump pal (who grows up to be Dan Fogler) crows at the apparent conquest.

Years later, Cook is a womanizing dentist and Fogler (the ping-pong wizard from “Balls of Fury”) is a perverted plastic surgeon with unusual masturbation practices who specializes in breast enlargement.

Cook falls for klutzy Jessica Alba (minimal chemistry), who tends the penguin display at a SeaWorld-like amusement park. Along the way, there’s a full-screen montage of Cook performing acrobatically with multiple sexual partners in multiple positions.

More? In order to move the lame plot forward, Cook is coerced into having sex with a morbidly obese woman (even larger than the grotesquerie of Eddie Murphy’s “Norbit”).

“Good Luck Chuck” is upchuck, a sexist indignity for women, an embarrassment for men.

I’m all for good-comedy, not for the cheap kind.
